BELK DAYS

 Thank you to all our members who voluneered at the Belk Days.

OUR JUNE GUEST SPEAKER WILL BE PRESENTING: "EMPOWEREING YOUTH, SHAPING FUTURES"

 Scott Chevalier, Executive Director of the Powerhouse Youth Project is  our June presenter. This project is intended to empower the next generation to shape their future.  The Powerhouse Youth Project is a 501(c) non-profit organization that began in Nashville, Tennessee in 1994 and expanded to other states. Scott will share some of their creative innovative programs and strategies designed to engage and equip our American youth for life after high school. It will be a fun and informative meeting!

READY OR NOT....IT'S CHRISTMAS IN JULY!

 BE SURE TO INVITE YOUR FRIENDS AND SPOUSES. YES - Our legendary "Christmas in July" party on July 23 is around the corner.  Our July meeting is one of our most important fundraising events for the Children's Advocacy Center. We will have great baskets for the raffle, "Guess the amount of Moolah in the jar", and a 50/50 raffle. Please note that the card bingo game won't be played in July this year, but at an upcoming meeting.

 

This event is so successful year after year because of our generous members. We are requesting donations for the basket raffle and other activities.  We are in need of donated baskets, which will be needed by June 27. Bring them to the meeting and load them right into one of the board member's cars in the parking lot. If you need help with creating a basket, Patrice De Haven, one of our members, will design and make it for you based on your budget.  Call her at 703-973-6300 or email her at patrice@carriedawaygifts.com.

 

We are also in need of new or gently used items, which you can also bring to the June meeting.  Items can also be dropped off at Lu's house (5342 Butterfly Court - Legacy) after June 20. All items must be received by July 12, however.

The following are suggested items for donations:

• Holiday-themed decorations

• Gift baskets filled with treats or small gifts

• Toys and games

• Books and puzzles

• Kitchenware and home decor

• Scarves and other accessories​​

If you are bringing a completed basket, please let Cathy or Lu know.
